Bayerische Motoren Werke AG or famously known as BMW is a German luxury auto and motorcycle designer and manufacturer. Their first ever production started after the First World War where its brand was known as the BMW Motorrad. Two failed attempts happened (Helios and Flink) before they could release their first successful motorcycle, the R32.
It was released in 1932 and had a twin engine encapsulated in a cylinder that pumps air from both sides of the machine. Their motorcycles had a unique design only until 1980 where they followed the conventional style.
At the Second World War, BMW designed the BMW R75 motorcycle. This model is quite unique with its sidecar where the sidecar wheel is powered by an engine. 1982 came in and BMW introduced the K series with a three to four-cylinder engine.

The Boxer engine that the R32 had was developed and improved in 1990 and became known as the oil head. In 1994, BMW released the K1200S sports bike which made BMW known worldwide. This beast had a 167-hp engine which was adapted from the engines used in the Williams F1 team.
The BMW C1 is the only scooter designed by the company. It was produced from 2000 to 2002 and was enclosed on its whole body. BMW is also popular with the technologies they apply on their motorcycles including the single-sided rear suspension which first appeared in 1980. They also invented the Paralever which avoids tire chattering on road surfaces in a sudden brake.
