Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), is all set to regain its number one rank in the small car segment with the launch of the refreshed Mirage in the country on 29th April at Solaire Resort. Already the brand's top-selling hatchback, this new Mirage receives a major mid-cycle upgrade that boosts its value-for- money quotient in the B-segment passenger car category.
Having already been teased at the Manila International Auto Show 2016, the 2016 Mirage sports a more aggressive styling with improved cabin feel to keep the fire burning in the market. Available in GLX and GLS variants with both CVT and five-speed manual transmission, the new Mirage is still powered by the same three-cylinder, 1.2-litre engine accompanied by Mitsubishi's proprietary Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control System or MIVEC. Euro 4 compliant engine pours out the maximum power of 78 PS along with the peak torque of 100Nm and its Euro 4 Compliance makes it even more desirable among Filipinos due to government new emission standards.

Up front, the Mirage gets heavily revised as it ditched its old look with new bi-xenon HID headlamps and a new grille with chrome finish which has flowed to the wider intakes also. New wheels have also been fitted onto the new models, with GLX sporting 14-inch alloy wheels and GLS getting a dual-tone 15-inch ones. To balance the new exterior, two more new body paints: Wine Red Pearl and Sunrise Orange Metallic have been added to the existing body-paint lineup.
Tweaks in the cabin are not major as its exterior but enough to give a more sporty yet subtle look. New Piano black chrome trims and black & white leather upholstery perfectly blends with the black theme within.
MMPC President during the event also announced that they will not just be a car dealer and manufacturer in the country, but employer as well as they will start assembling units of Mirage in its Sta. Rosa plant by 2017.
